With the continued development of the construction, various of structural systems are developing constantly, the areas of application are also expanding constantly. Because of the excellences of the flat-plate structure, for example simple construction techniques, large headroom structure, making the height of the floors and the total height of buildings much lower and reducing the cost of building, it is widely applied on the actual projects. However, the mechanism of the flat- plate structure under lateral load is still ambiguity and the application has more limits on seismic design. In order to study the seismic behavior of the flat-plate structure system, and further promote its application in practical projects, it is necessary to experimental research on the seismic behavior of the flat-plate structure system. For researching the seismic behavior of the flat-plate structure system, taking a storey-adding transformation project as the case we did a pseudodynamic test and pushover test with a flat-slab structure model which geometric similarity ratio is 1:5. Because the test model in this article is space model, usually pseudodynamic test model is single frame structure, and the full-scale structure is flexure sheer structure but not shear structure. Contraposing the above problems, we improved the loading device of the test, we chose the model's parameters used to establish a suitable flexure sheer structure model rationally, and introduced the soft coupling system control methods to let the displacement control become rapid and precise. Through the pseudodynamic test we studied the mechanical property such as the internal force, deformation and failure forms and so on under the horizontal seismic excitation; discussed the characteristics of earthquake response such as the structural horizontal displacement, interstorey drift and strain distribution and so on; analyzed the seismic behavior such as the deformation and hysteretic curve and so on.We also did the model analysis and linear time-history analysis with the full-scale structure, and compared the results of various theoretical computation and pseudodynamic test at the same time. We compared the basic dynamic properties of the rigid diaphragm assumption model and the elastic diaphragm assumption model, obtained the time history of dynamic response and the property of stress and deformation with the rigid diaphragm assumption model and compared the rigid diaphragm assumption model's results of linear time-history analysis and response spectrum analysis in the building code. The compare of response results with large numbers of seismic waves provided the theoretical foundation for appropriately selecting the simplified model and seismic waves.
