This paper studies the problems in mudstone slope projects in Nanning Basin. First, mudstone material has been collected, then the author has analyzed the related material concerning mudstone home and abroad, and elaborated the distribution, the project classification and the nature of Guangxi tertiary mudstone, and statistics have been given on the changing scope of the main parameter in the respect of physics mechanics. The author has also analyzed the destruction mechanism of mudstone slope, and has obtained the rule of destruction mechanism of mudstone slope.Next, create the infiltration model of mudstone slope to rainfall by applying transfusion theory and the mass conservation theory, and determine the corresponding boundary condition, then use finite difference method to the model computation analysis, thus has obtained the rule of the rainfall infiltration of the mudstone slope under different rainfall intensity and time. Finally, use the ANSYS finite element software to simulate the mudstone side slope excavating under the condition of rainfall infiltration, and observe mudstone slope soil change of displacement and stress under the different intensity and time, thus research into the stability of mudstone slope considering rainfall infiltration. The conclusion is drawn as follows: With the increase of rainfall intensity and time, the slope stress and shear stress are unceasingly increasing. The maximum value of shear stress appears in the foot of slope, with the general trend of increasing outwards. The nearer to the foot of slope, the higher the value is. And it restores gradually to the primitive stress condition towards the inner part of the slope. The study shows that the foot of slope in the process of rain is easiest to be destroyed, and that with the increase of rainfall intensity and time, the shear stress is also increasing and that the face of the slope is more easily to be destroyed.
