Frame is the most important carrying component of solar battery farm three-wheel tractors. It has important influence on life and reliability of three-wheel tractors. It also has close relation with the tricycle's smoothly control, security of drive, comfort of ride and going across ability.In this paper, we choose the frame of a new type solar battery farm tricycle designed and manufactured by china 001 group as research object. We did comprehensive capability emulational analysis by MSC.Patran/Nastran software. First of all, frame FEM computation model with shell as basic unit is established. Based on this model, firstly, static stress is analyzed and the stress distribution of frame under various static working condition is attained. Secondly,modal analysis of frame is carried out and natural frequency and modes of this frame are received. Then , random vibration is analyzed and displacement and stress reaction stimulated by road surface are atained. In term of the FEM computation results, the performance of the frame under static and dynamic working environment is analyzed and evaluated. Finally, we optimized the frame's section and improved on the whole frame.The main characteristic of the study is composed of the four following respects:First, frame FEM computation model is established with shell as basic unit. In the process of restrict disposal, leaf spring is simplified to two non- linear spring and one rigidity spring, and calculate the load detailedly. Then the FEM computation model has better calculate precision.Second, comprehensive capability emulational analysis has made, including static stress analysis, modal analysis and random vibration analysis. We receive capability parameter of the frame. It is provided the basis of frame's amelioration and made the technician of China 001 Group known the capability of the frame well.Third, based on the capability analysis, we optimized the frame's section and improved on the whole frame. We introduce the method of theory combined with experience. Then we known the new frame has better capability and less weight. We proved the method of FEM analysis is a good way in the design of frame.Fourth, The method and process of frame FEM analysis on the the new type solar battery farm tricycle in this paper are applied to the design and analysis of all kinds of three-wheel vehicles...
