Presently, tribology performance of porous bearing is focused on lubrication theory. Analyse and characterize the friction performance including friction, wear of porous bearing under certain work condition just from the point of view of pump suction. The paper try to use fractal theory on the tribology investigation of porous bearing.The paper introduce fractal theory model in tribology, draw the simulation curve, load-supporting curve and friction coefficient curve. The loading testing worktable such as its work principle and mechanism was analysed and introduced in detail. The testing worktable is composed of machine structure and measure system. The counter curve was gained on the surface roughness measuring equipment, and the friction signal curve was gained by signal testing system. At last, surface topography and vibration performance of porous bearings were analysed according to the testing records.On the base of loading testing , surface topography testing and vibration testing, the paper investigate and calculate the fractal character, fractal attribute and fractal parameter about surface topography and vibration performance. The experimental investigations show us:The calculation of fractal geometry parameter about porous bearing show us, with the running of porous bearing , the roughness of surface is increasing , and the fractal dimension is decreasing, the scale coefficient is increasing , the feature parameter is decreasing . With the change of roughness the change of feature parameter is clear. That indicate feature fractal parameter is sensitive to the change of surface topography .Under the loading the vibration, friction coefficient and temperature will increase. With the running of porous bearing , the vibration becomes obvious. The fractal results show us, the vibration dimension is decreasing.
