Fine photoelectric displacement measurement technology is fundamental, however, the most advanced of modern fine measurement technology. Its application and development means a lots to the national economy, industry of nation defence science and technology. Traditional manual detection mode can hardly afford mass production of photoelectrical encoders. Thus, several detection modes have been presented. The method of graphic-arts evaluation for the detection of photoelectrical encoders's subdivision errors is presented and verified in actual projects.According with the analysis of common Moire stripe signals, different waveform generators are built for different photoelectric signals. When comes with approximate triangular-wave, which is composed of abundant harmonic especially high–order wave, it is difficult to express with fourier series. The method of curve fitting with piece wise smooth curve comes up.Sample one interval signal (IS) of two photoelectric signals which differ 90°in phase and draw their lissajou chart. Then fit it with the wave generated by waveform generator and goodness-of-fit test is done. Under allowable accuracy, with the parameters of signals, the subdivision errors of photoelectrical encoders come out.The hardware and software of evaluation system is built, and applied in the project of Fh16 photoelectrical encoders. And the error chart of photoelectrical encoders is drew. The error chart acquired static measurement validates the result.
