Comparison Study Of Drinking Water Quality Management In China And France

Water pollution is getting worse and worse in China. Because the drinking water quality has great relation to the water sources quality, so it falls off gradually. How to catch up with the drinking water quality standards of developed countries is now being a hotspot in drinking water industry. According to the actuality and development aim of the drinking water quality in China, combining author' s practice in the biggest drinking water company in France, this thesis made a comparison research on drinking water quality management between China and France which has good drinking water quality and may represent the common situation in Europe. The drinking water quality management in France can be used as a reference for China.This thesis made the comparison from four aspects: the standards of drinking water quality, the management structures of water sources quality, the management systems of water quality in supplying factories and the quality management of water in distribution systems.Scientific standard is the basis to prove drinking water quality. Chinese water criteria is derived from the standard of World Health Organization while French standard is based on the European Union's standard so there is difference between them. In this thesis, the author described their difference from microorganism, organic compound, mineral, disinfectors and their outgrowths, pesticide and nuclide etc.According to the actuality of worse water pollution, France combined the management of water source quality and the technology of treatment to ensure the drinking water quality. From the comparison of such aspects as the standard of water quality, the protection of water source and building the water quality on-line stations, the author pointed out the shortage of management for water sources quality, meanwhile, some suggestions were put out.Comparing with France, the water quality management in Chinese water works drops behind on the technology of treatment, the on-line monitoring of water quality and the automatization.To reduce the probability of "secondary pollution" in the distribution system, France takes many measures such as paying more attention to pipe material, strengthening water quality monitoring in the distribution system and studying water quality model in distribution system etc. There are much successful experiences for China, a developing country, to learn water quality management experience from...
