The wind tunnel test and CFD methods are introduced into the research of the steam turbine LP casing inlet flow path to reduce the pressure loss-coefficient. Factors influence the pressure loss-coefficient are studied and advices for improve the flow efficiency are subjected. The inlet area of the inner casing should be reasonable respect to the area of the over-cross piping. The flow velocity in the inlet should be kept below 54m/s. The deficiency of the original structure of the inlet path is found in the CFD research. It's advised to take modifications on the structure of the inlet path. These kinds of modifications will effectively improve the LP casing inlet flow efficiency.
