With the analysis of several slewing cranes, the elementary projects were studied outcombining with engineering. To obtain the optimal project, the projects were appraisedfrom the technical, the economic and the societal aspects. The quantificational factors werejudged directly and the non-quantificational factors were judged by the mathematic modelwith the weighting coefficient. With the result, truck crane was selected as the optimalcarrier to design the special equipment. According to the nation's standards and laws, theflying jib was designed and its working level was distinguished, subsequently all of theaccessorial equipments were chose, then the type of the structures was confirmed. To makesure the section size of every structure, the flying jib under the static force was analyzed.In order to indicate the jib's strength and stiffness, the finite element method (FEM)was analyzed with ANSYS. Most of the traditional analyses of the jib's complex structureshad been done by predigesting or changing the structure using the equivalent static theoryto slightness girder to simulate the boom's load. This result could only show the holisticstructure stress and displacement transformation;it was unable to show the joint load statusclearly, in which two jibs are contacted. The contact question between the joint plates wasdefined by applying the face-to-face contact element with ANSYS. The jib's entity modelwas carried out in the paper;thereby the method and theoretical base were provided to thejoint's model setting up and the structure's analysis. By the analysis of the jib's model, theresult indicated that the jib structure strength and stiffness can satisfy the work require.
