Therefore, the people's understanding about passenger car has been changing a lot. Today, there is a bright future for auto market in China: The consumers not only limit to the government and business man in the past, but also extend to normal individuals and family. Now the Chinese auto market shows its multiplex character. The discussion on localization design and the independent development has never been stopped. The independent design is always the hottest topic that everyone advocated, and also will be the only choice of the automobile design. It will be a tough work to design excellent passenger cars especially design for Chinese family. And now more and more attention is paid to this work in Chinese automobile field.This thesis analyzed the process of passenger car development both in domestic and overseas family, and the influence of different national culture, compared various style of mainstream vehicle type. At the same time, according to the domestic situation, this thesis introduced the definition and the classification of " Chinese multiplex families" , and the different car style demands of "Chinese multiplex families" . With relative practices on styling design projects of many vehicle types, it also explored the styling of passenger car for Chinese families and finally made a try to describe its future trend.When discuss the Chinese feature in the localization design, many people are used to equal Chinese culture to Chinese feature.
