Utilizing and empoldering underground space is more and more important in city development. As an unexcavtion technology, pipejacking need not dig the ground surface and install the pipeline underground, It is convenient and swift, and has better economic benefits. So it have been used widely in civil engineering. But pipe jacking construction inevitably brings about the ground and earth's surface movement, If this ground displacement is big enough, it will damage the construction around the pipe. This paper is based on the pipe jacking project in Guangzhou city. It starts with causes production reason, the form of expression and treatment method, deformation in the earth's surface. Firstly, through causing the mechanism analysis deformation in the earth's surface, we can obtain two conclusions that the stratum loss due to various reason is the basic reason with the surface subsidence and the soil internal stress state and property is disturbed during pipejacking construction. Secondly, two-dimentional analytic method and three-dimension finite element method is adopted to analyze stratum movement and soil influence during pipe jacking construction, we can know the laws of horizontal and longitudinal deformation of the earth's surface. Further through comparing some main parameters during pipe jacking construction, we have known the significance that each main parameter influences to the deformation of the earth's surface. Finally, based on the summarizition of some laws and the comparison of pipejacking craft, two methods being feasible to reduce stratum loss effectively are put forward. That are the methods of choosing suitable tools and controlling some pipejacking parameters. Thus we can reduce the deformation of the earth's surface in a large amount.
