Rocking mixer is a new-style powder mixer. Because of its simple structure, high efficiency, easy scale-up, it is widely used in the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries. In this paper, the swing track of the container subassembly is analyzed, and the power requirement is described, the energy-saving parallel multi-container rocking mixer is then designed. In addition, the stress analysis and optimization of the container subassembly is performed.The swing track of the container subassembly is analyzed using the computational software MATLAB based on vector equation analysis, the swing angular speed and angular acceleration are calculated out as a function of swing angle, and using the calculated center of gravity and moment of inertia, the power requirement of the swing mechanism is described. By means of adding positive and negative work, the energy-saving parallel multi-container rocking mixer has been designed with stress on the crank adjustment, and the optimum crank angles have been calculated by the program to minimize the maximum value of total power. The results show that the parallel multi-container rocking mixer saves much energy.In addition, a parameterized 3-D finite element model of the container subassembly has been established using ANSYS. The equivalent stress and radial displacement is calculated, and the container subassembly is optimized. Finally, the stress intensity of friction-wheel is checked.By studying the rocking mixer, this thesis offers some theoretical support for the engineering design and application, and the reference for the research of this kind of mixer.
