At present, more than 30% of the total social energy consumption in China is building energy, building energy consumption, especially residential energy consumption has been widely concerned. In order to avoid inadequate consideration of energy saving in the residential design process, blindly use energy-saving technology resulting in energy waste, and to improve the efficiency of residential energy-saving design, to avoid unnecessary design reworks, the paper takes saving residential energy consumption as the starting point, studies on energy-saving optimization design of residential buildings.Through reading and sorting foreign green building technology classification system, low carbon housing technology system framework and emission reduction targets, and "11th Five-Year" technical bulletin from Ministry of construction, understood the current types of energy-saving technologies used in residentials. Combined with the regional characteristics of Liaoning Province, the paper establishes a classification system of urban residential energy-saving technologies in Liaoning province.As a part of theoretical research, the paper introduces optimization method into the process of building energy efficiency optimization design. According to the characteristics of building energy saving, identifies three major factors that restrict the optimization design of building energy saving firstly:building energy consumption, investment budget and comfort requirements. Then by using linear programming optimization method and 0-1 integer programming method, constructs the building energy efficiency optimization design model. Because it is difficult to quantify the indoor comfort constraints in the model, the paper further simplified the model, reduced the computational difficulty of the model, and improved the maneuverability of the model.According to pre-established residential energy-saving technology classification system, the paper focuses on the research of the design of energy-saving technology, green energy-saving technology, new energy utilization technology, building envelope energy-saving technology, equipment energy-saving technology and management energy-saving technology. Using software simulation, theoretical calculation and data statistics, the energy saving effect and incremental cost of energy saving technology were analyzed. Considering the mutual influence of some energy-saving technologies, the paper analyzed "building envelope energy saving technology" and "building envelope energy-saving technology with heating and air conditioning energy-saving technology" by using orthogonal test method.In order to explain the optimization design process of residential energy saving, the paper taking a residential building in Shenyang city as an example, introduces the specific optimization process. According to pre-constructed optimal design model of building energy saving, and the analysis of the relationship between increase of investment in each part of the building envelope and the energy efficiency of residential buildings, the optimization design of enclosure structure of residential building is carried out. Finally, in the same increase investment, the optimization of the building envelope insulation program achieved a higher energy efficiency than the original heat preservation program. At the same time, according to the dynamic combination optimization method, the paper optimized other energy-saving technologies, the maximum energy saving is achieved under the setting increasing investment.
