The paper uses Suzhou highway as study object, explore the regularity on the pollution of noise, SO2 and dust on the highway in time and space, study some different planting and matching methods of plants to improve the effect of highway greening on reducing noises, absorbing SO2 and keeping dust down.1. Using Suzhou section in Su-Ja-Hang Highway as study object, I tested the actual effect of greening on reducing noise, study change regularity on the noise pollution on highway in time and space, do some contractive tests about forest belts of different trees, planting width and planting methods, analyze the relation between the forest belt form and the effect on reducing noise. The results suggest: in arbor, Cinnamomum camphora, Populus tomentosa, Ligustrum lucidum, Magnolia grandiflora have good effects on noise reduction. Such 20-metre forest belt can reduce 3.3-4.4 dB noise. In bush, Viburnum awabuki has good effect on noise reduction. 20-metre bush belt can reduce 4.8 dB noise. 20-metre forest belt combining arbor with bush can reduce 5.4 dB noise when such forest belt is planted on the leaning slope beside highway. The width of forest belt is direct proportion to the effect on noise reduction. According to the testing resulting of noise reduction and the change regularity of noise about Suzhou Highway greening, 1 give some advices about greening design which can clearly improve the affect on noise reduction on Suzhou highway.2. Using Suzhou section in along-river highway as study object , I test the highway greening's actual effect on absorbing the pollution of SO2, at the same time, study the change regularity on air pollution of SO2 on Suzhou highway, analyze different cleaning and absorbing effects trees' and greening designs on SO2 pollution. Combining the plant's LAI, I calculate and analyze the cleaning and absorbing difference of different plants in the same greening area. The results suggest: in arbor, Cedrus deodara has the highest absorption with 17.8 g/m2 In bush, Sabina Chinensis cv. Pyramidali, Nerium indicum have comparatively high absorption on SO2 with more than 15.0 g/m2.
