With the rapid development of underwater acoustic signal processing technique, more and more information is needed from underwater equipment -transducers. So we not only design and produce a transducer with the characteristics of low frequency, great-power, small size, high-sensitivity and high-efficiency ,but also it has a broad working frequency band.The technology of matching layer transducer is an efficient method in middle-high frequency among many methods of broaden the frequency of transducers. Base on the many years researching on matching layer transducer, the author analysed the theory and the electro-acoustic character of the matching layer transducer carefully, and searched the optimize design of the matching layer transducer. At the same time, under the theoretic researching, the author did experiment about fitting technics of the transducer and array, and compared the result of the experiment to the theory, so as to acquire better transducer and array for engineering application.For broaden the band more, the paper discussed the method of adding compliance stuff to single matching layer transducer, analysed the effect of matching layer and compliance stuff for the transducer and study experiment.The paper combine with the research of the 863 task—the extra broad band benthal section apparatus and the synthesize aperture sonar ocean examinatorial machine and the 10th five-year-plan—the multi-module broadbrand tranducer. Applying the technology of broaden brand using matching layer, the paper made several varify transducer array and passed the lake and ocean examination.
