Nowadays, the population of our city is expanding, with the city space changing. In the period, the effect of people controlling is more influential than ever. So, we should summarize the law of city expanding in order to let city develop healthily. And the valley city is the very standing out in the aspects.In the article there are maid three ways to analyse the expanding of the space of the valley city. One combines theory and instances; the other combines static state and developments. The third includes debates way and system way.And in the article three are six parts to explain the idea of the expending of the valley city. First part is to explain the definition of the valley city and the background of the field. Second part is to probe into origin of the valley city. The third part is about the basic theory of the valley city. The forth part is to explain the course of the expanding of the city space in different periods. And the fifth is to search for the aspects of influencing the valley city space.
