| From 2000 to 2020,China’s urbanization level increased from 36.22% to 63.89%,with more than half of the population now living in cities, and this proportion is expected to continue to grow for some time to come. The high concentration of urban population intensifies the contradiction between the low level of the urban built environment and the high living demands of residents.Aiming at this contradiction,a series of urban social space issues such as space justice, space dignity, and space accessibility have been discussed. Therefore, how to build a high-quality life for urban residents, promote new urbanization and improve the quality of urban functions has become a focus of urban development research. In the traditional sense, urban space mainly focuses on residents’ living activities, while the activity space and social interaction space of urban residents is also important part of urban space.Given this, this paper takes the downtown area of Lanzhou,a valley-shaped city,as the research area, focuses on the needs of residents, takes into account the equity and justice of the city, and constructs the quality index system of urban living space from five dimensions of safety, health, convenience, comfort, and sociality with the help of walking index, from three levels of urban(macro),sub-district(medium)and district(micro). The quality score of living space of different scale units in the urban interior was analyzed.Trend surface analysis, global spatial autocorrelation, and hot spot analysis were used to describe the distribution and agglomeration characteristics of living space quality, and then the social effects were discussed with the help of residents’ basic economic attribute information obtained from questionnaires and interviews and their perception data of living space quality, and the decision reference was provided for Lanzhou urban construction. The main contents and conclusions of the study were as follows:(1)Evaluation of living space quality in Lanzhou City: The overall living space quality in Lanzhou city is low and the index difference is large,so there is still a large room for improvement. The social living space quality index has the highest average score, the safety living space quality index has the second average score, comfort living space quality index has the lowest average score; From Chengguan District,Anning District,Qilihe District to Xigu district, the overall quality of living space decreased in turn. The comparative analysis of each area shows that the quality of living space is mainly medium-quality living space,low-quality living space, and low-quality living space, followed by high-quality living space, and at least only Jiuquan Road residential area has high-quality living space.(2)Characteristics of living space quality in Lanzhou City: the agglomeration and differentiation characteristics of living space quality in Lanzhou City are obvious. The living space quality in Lanzhou City presents a multi-core spatial structure of "one main and multiple times",with an unbalanced feature of "high in the east and low in the west".Among them, the distribution of high-quality living space is concentrated, while the distribution of low-quality living space is scattered.Comfort space presents the pattern of "high value-dispersion,low value-concentration".The convenience space presents the trend of a multi-center outward decrease. The health space presents a pattern of "high in the middle, low at both ends, and east of the high value".The safety space decreases outward from the central area of the valley. The social space is highly clustered and low-value concentrated in the center of the valley.(3)Social effects and regulation strategies of quality differentiation of living space in Lanzhou: While pursuing high-quality living space, the organic renewal and spatial reconstruction of residential areas are accelerated, diversified services and differentiated demands are realized, and the construction of community living circle and improvement of life quality is promoted. However, due to the barrier between the north and south mountains and the internal division of the Yellow River, land resources are limited and discontinuous, and the spatial distribution of high-quality living space is located in the well-developed floodplain area, resulting in social problems such as residential differentiation and space deprivation, social trust crisis and social isolation. Therefore,it is proposed to strengthen urban renewal and housing stock transformation, shape high-quality rental space to strengthen mixed living, create a nearby high-quality livable living circle, and strengthen planning guidance and other regulation strategies,to provide decision-making reference for the realization of Lanzhou urban construction. |
