As a displacement sensor, precise potentiometer is being applied more and more widely to aeronautical fields. No-linearity error is the leading technical criteria to scale a potentiometer and decides how precisely potentiometer works. In this dissertation, a potentiometer auto-measuring and amending computer control system is given through the analysis of auto-measuring and amending technique, the trimming process and its functional requirement to system.Hardware chosen is based on the system scheme. According to their functions, the hardware modules are connected. Keithley 2000 multimeter is used to detect the resistance. We also have built the serial communication between the IPC and Keithley 2000 multimeter .This dissertation uses the theory of differential coefficient and makes a amending arithmetic modeling which get amending curve through dealing with the collected data. According to the amending curve, realize potentiometer auto-measuring and amending. We also designed the pallet and optimized the selecting the measure-head. Assemble configuration of the measure-head is also studied deeply. This dissertation works out one set of software system utilizing the C++ language at the Visual C++ 6.0 programming circumstances. During the software designing process fully embodies the principle of having a good interface, being easy to operate. Through this friendly interface user can measure potentiometer, compute the no-linearity error, show the amending curve timely. Finally, do a lot of experiments to make a great improvement on the system and examine the validity of the amending arithmetic. The experiments show that the potentiometer no-linearity error decrease obviously and meet the demand of potentiometer production.
