In this thesis, a new type of SMA-Rubber Bearing called Type II SMA-rubber Bearing is presented and seismic isolated performance of long-span spatial structures using Type II SMA-rubber Bearings is studied.First, the state-of-the-art of vibration control technologies in long-span spatial structures and an overview of SMA applications in structural vibration control are summarized.Second, based on the original SMA-rubber bearing (Type I), Type II SMA-rubber Bearing is designed, corresponding program is developed, theoretical model of the Type II SMA-rubber Bearing is developed and design method is put forward. Based on the theoretical model of Type II SMA-rubber Bearing, dynamic responses of a single-degree of freedom system with Type II SMA-rubber Bearing are analyzed, and the seismic isolated performances of the bearing are discussed in contrast with Type I SMA-rubber Bearing.Last, Vibration control theory and method for Square Pyramid Space Grids Structures with Type II SMA-rubber Bearing are investigated, and control effects between Type II and Type I SMA-rubber bearing are compared and analyzed.
