Shear wall is the main component to resist lateral forces, and it has been mostly used in high rise buildings. So it is urgent to study a new shear wall which has better seismic behavior. In this paper, high-rise shear wall with concealed truss has been brought forw- ard, This new composite concealed shear wall includes two kinds of compositions that are the composition of truss and shear wall and the composition of steel and concrete, which forms a double composite shear wall. Experimental study on the seismic behavior has been systemicly studied and theory analysis has been done to this new shear wall. The main contents are listed as follows:1. The experimental study on the seismic behavior of six 1/3 scale and shear- span ratio 2.2 high-rise shear walls, including a high-rise shear wall with steel frame, a high-rise shear wall with steel truss, a high-rise shear wall with steel frame-steel truss, a high-rise shear wall with steel bar truss, a high-rise shear wall with steel-steel bar truss and a usual one, has been studied. Based upon the experimental study, the stiffness and its attenuation, bearing capacity, ductility, hysteretic property energy dissipation and failure phenomena of each shear wall with different design parameters are contrastively analyzed and the seismic mechamism of this new shear wall has been opened out.2. Based on the studying result, the mechanical models and formulas of bearing capacity and stiffness are established. The results obtained from the formulas and those from experiment are in good agreement. The resilience model is also been suggested.3. Some suggestions for seismic tectonic measure of shear wall with concealed steel bar truss have been presented. And some advice for seismic design of this new shear wall has been put forward. What the results show are: Compared with the usual shear wall, the yield load and ultimate load of shear wall with concealed steel bar truss are obviously higher. Its yield stiffness is evidently improved. Its hysteretic curve is plumper, its ductility coefficient and energy dissipation capacity have been improved remarkably. The inclined staff of the steel bar truss has a restraining faction to the development of the crack, and the phenomena is that there has more crak and larger distributing area on the shear wall, which is an important token of the improved seismic capacity. Concealed steel bar truss has the faction of increasing the height of plastic hinge area, which is another important token of...
