Low-rise shear walls always exist in multi-story frame-shear wall at bottom stories structures and high-rise large-space in basement structures. But its ductility is poor and the number and thickness of shear wall is restricted by architectural function. So it is urgent in the engineering field to develop a new kind of low-rise shear wall which has better seismic behavior. In this paper, low-rise shear wall with concealed truss has been brought forward. This new composite shear wall includes two kinds of composition. One is composition of two bearing systems——truss and shear wall and the other is composition of two materials——steel and concrete. So it is a double composite shear wall. Experimental study and theoretic analysis on the seismic behavior of this new shear wall have been done in this paper. The main contents are listed as follows:1.The experimental study on the seismic behavior of six low-rise shear walls and one steel truss with 1/3 scale and shear-span ratio 1.5 has been done. The seven specimens include a usual low-rise shear wall,a low-rise shear wall with steel frame, a low-rise shear wall with steel truss, a low-rise shear wall with steel frame-steel bar truss, a low-rise shear wall with steel bar truss, a low-rise shear wall with steel-steel bar truss and a steel truss.Based upon the experimental study, the stiffness and its degradation, bearing capacity, ductility, hysteretic property, energy dissipation and failure phenomena of each shear wall with different design parameters are contrastively analyzed and the seismic mechanism of this new shear wall has been opened out.2.Based on the studying result, the resilience model of low-rise shear wall with steel truss is been suggested. The mechanical models and formulas of bearing capacity and stiffness are established. The results obtained from the formulas and those from experiment are in good agreement.3.Some suggestions for seismic tectonic measure of shear wall with concealed steel truss have been presented. And some advice for seismic design of this new shear wall has been put forward. The results of study indicate that:1. Compared with the usual shear wall, cracking load, yield load and ultimate load of shear wall with concealed steel truss are obviously higher; yield stiffness is evidently...
