The dissertation mainly describes about development histories, present status and trend of hydraulic fluid, introduces the development of hydraulic fluid with the technology of hydraulic machine develops rapidly, expecially, hydraulic system design level and fabrication technology. Hydraulic fluid keeps on satisfying the needs of low-energy consumption, mechanical and electronic integration, automation, hydrraulic component integration, standardization. And satisfy the needs of hydraulic machines' work efficiency and low costs. R&D of modern hydraulic fluid is based on three fields - base oil, lubricating additives and analysis & evaluation. The Level of them directly reflects the level of lubricating oils trade in their country.For the sake of large-size & high speed hydraulic machine's needs, synthetic ashless anti-wear hydraulic fluid are being researched. Research & Development start with two fields which are base oil and additives. In the respect of base oil, the base oil is mainly SpectraSyn Plus? PAO for maximum quality and purity. This dissertation describes the fundamental theory of PAO base oil, including technological process, technological features and standard. In addition, it introduces the basic theory, product performance, compound mixture fomula and synergistic effect of the functional additives use by synthetic ashless antiwear hydraulic fluid, and put forward the main contradition is between ashless to high antiwear performance. Besides, having contrasted and analyzed the actions of relevent ashless EP antiwear agent, antioxidant, metal deactivator, anti—rust additive, demulsifying agent and compound antifoamer on improving the comprehensive performances of the reaserch oil.
