The distribution lines loss rate comprehensive reflected to the distribution network programming design, power producing and working, conducting and managing, it was a mainly sign of economic and technique. Low the distribution lines loss rate could be to reduce the energy loss in transporting, improve the electricity supply ability, and increase the economic performance of Power Company. It was very important in theory and actual to study on the method of theoretical energy loss calculation for distribution network.This paper had two parts, one was the energy loss calculation for 10kV distribution network, and another was the energy loss calculation for 0.4kV distribution network. In the first part, it was most mainly part and included distribution lines and distribution transformer and so on; in the second part, it was more mainly part and included distribution lines and so on.The 10kV and 0.4kV distribution networks structure were more complicate, and had many branches, many kinds of loads, historical data were not whole, big network and network parameters were difficult to calculate. Using traditional method need more technique data and historical data to calculate, calculating was great capacity, and the process of calculating was complication, it was not easy to calculate in the actual application. So that this paper pointed out a new method- improved equal electric resistance method. The basic thought of 10kV distribution lines is changed to chose the distribution transformer capacity to calculate distribution lines and transformer equal resistance, but to chose power energy of distribution lines and transformer to calculate distribution lines and transformer equal resistance; The basic thought of 0.4kV lower distribution lines is using to replace the power energy of 10kV distribution lines with power energy of the distribution transformer and to replace capacity of distribution transformer with power device capacity of user to calculate distribution lines equal resistance. From theories to actual, this paper detail argued rationality and accuracies of the method, and choose a lot of 10kV and 0.4kV distribution networks from Bayan power bureau to calculate, the example showed that the result was increased about 1.129 and 1.15 percent to 10kV distribution lines and 0.4kV when choose improved equal electric resistance method than choose equal electric resistance method. The processing and result showed that the method need data easily to be collected and accuracy and speed quickly and result accuracy, this method could be satisfied for the engineering calculation and the actual management request.In order to calculate easily to the engineering, according to improved equal electric resistance...
