Research Of Vehicle Independent Navigation System Based On Real-Time Traffic Information

Vehicle Independent Navigation System is the application of Global Positioning System techniques, the Geographic Information System and the data bank technology, computer technology, multimedia technology and the modern communication high tech system ensemble. It is the Intelligent Transport System' s core, and the key of road intelligent management. Such a system based on real-time traffic information can guide the travelers by providing them with optimal route. As a result the travel time will be shorted and the traffic congestion reduced, meanwhile. the environmental pollution will be alleviated.In this dissertation, a brief development history of Vehicle Independent Navigation System is reviewed firstly and it' s future market benefits is presupposed .We also discuss the basic technology needed for it: Global Positioning System and Geographic Information System .This dissertation focus on some key technologies that impact the practicability of vehicle navigation system based on real-time.1, We analyze the function of electronic map for navigation, and select the map format.2, Base on static road model, we establish a dynamic road model, by receving real road datas from various city traffic radio station. we record the jam degrees and durings of road node and segment as real traffic information.3, By means of theoretical analysis many route planning algorithms are evaluated and tested, We propose heuristic A* arithmetic as optimum route search arithmetic . In addition, after making a research on time speciality of road, we presents an improved dynamic heuristic A* arithmetic in real time navigation environment.Finally, This dissertation design the architecture of navigation system based on real-time.
