Research On The Landscape Layout And Planting Disposition Of Campus

With the development of higher education, the scale of universities and colleges is being enlarged, campuses are being rebuilt or expanded with much higher standards. The environmental quality has become an important role in evaluating the comprehensive capability of a university. The plan of campus, especially the building layout, attracts so much attention that academy and enterprises had performed discussion and practice. However, the landscape planning, which is an import ant aspect of the campus environment, is lack of adequate attention and systematic research. Here we analyzed the history, actuality and trend of the campus landscape plan and plant disposition. Furthermore, we researched into the concept, principle, tenet, requirement, types, structure and function of campus landscape plan and plant collocation. Based on the theoretical research, we took the Hubei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine as a practical example to give some suggestion about campus landscape layout and construction in an ecologically harmonious direction.Based on the analysis of landscape planning of some other universities, we made the plan of Hubei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine concerning with the natural condition, general plan, environmental function and cultural characteristics of the campus. The design follows the principle of botany, the planting technology and the botanic landscape art. According to the principle, general layout, greenbelt and space arrangement were optimized. Green land and space were set into six types: core ecotypic greenbelt, circumjacent greenbelt, path greenbelt, square greenbelt, playground greenbelt and accessorial greenbelt of building; the project was consisted of twelve parts: path sight, library square, working and teaching area, water plant garden, sports square, celebrities square, culture square, herb arboretum, lake-around area, students' boarding house and core activity square. Appropriate plant genus and plant colony were selected and ecotypic landscape was designed, and 150 sorts and 1390 genus plant were planed, which including 663 genus of herb plant, 287 genus of water plant and 440 genus of garden plant. In this way, diversity of species, ecotype of community, culture of Chinese traditional medicine and sight of campus were presented. Emphasizing the functional conception of "men-oriented", the ecotypic idea of "plant-oriented", the cultural characteristic of "culture-oriented" and the historical sight of "mores-oriented", we present some reasonable rules of planning and constructing. In this design, we pursue the compound green-land effect that highlights plant function, as well as cultural characteristic and ecotypic effect of plant aimed at creating a layout with deep campus culture insight and ecotypic landscape characteristic.
