Research And Analysis Of Plant Disposition In Residential Garden Landscape In Xi’an City

With the continuous acceleration of Xi’an international metropolis process and thecontinuous development of real estate industry in Xi’an city, the plant landscape design ofresidential areas has not simply focused on grass land, flower beds and tall trees, but on thechange from the number of the green space to its quality and on the coordination of such hardlandscapes as greening layout, landscape sketch, garden path, etc., to create an ecological andnoble community with human cultural sights in the residential areas of modern cities.Based on the investigation on the plant layout in the garden landscape and the plantvarieties in Xi’an city, this paper analyzed the problems existing in the garden landscape plantlayout in the residential areas of Xi’an city and pointed out the causes of the following threeproblems in the landscape design in the residential area of Xian city: firstly, the plant layoutfocused on the visual effect and ignored its practicality; secondly, it focused on the greeningarea and ignored its humanistic solicitude; and thirdly, it focused on the landscape marketingand ignored the plant diversity. So, the research showed that, because many developers in Xi’an city didn’t fully understand the role of the real estate landscape and attach muchimportance to the garden plant layout in the process of landscape construction, many realestate companies didn’t set up a special department of landscape technology and only copiedthe landscape design of other residential areas; and that they only introduced more famoustree species with a high quality and ignored the local plant resources of high quality, whichbrought about a low survival rate of tree and a poor plant diversity. For these reasons, there isa same landscape and lack of their own characteristics for each residential area, which hasbrought about a residential garden landscape with few practicalities and a lack of humanisticsolicitude. All these made the landscape space design lose its integrity, vividity, fullness, localfeatures, harmony and beauty for the garden plant layout in the real estate landscape.Therefore, to solve the problems existing in the garden landscape plant layout in theresidential areas of Xi’an city, this paper has put forward some concepts and measures: first,plant layout should be designed as early as possible; second, plant should be laid out andselected according to local conditions to highlight the feature of the local plant landscape;third, the principle of humanity should be followed to show the cultural implication plants have; finally, the principle of biodiversity should be employed to enrich the plant community.And this paper has discussed the application of plant layout to the residential areas of Xi’ancity. It is expected that all these concepts and measures could play a positive role in therational plant layout in the residential garden landscape planning in Xi’an city so that thelandscape of residential areas in Xi’an is characterized with a rich diversity, a distinct regionalculture of an oriental ancient city and rich resources through a rational plant layout. A goodlayout of living environment with a complete function can make plant varieties matched morerationally and characterized with a clear seasonal change, which could have residents enjoy aliving environment with the beauty of flowers and landscapes all year.
