With the rapid development of economy, the amount of municipal solid waste increases tremendously. One of the most suitable ways to overcome the troublesome problems of waste is to construct larger scale landfill fields. At the same time, how to make full use of the function of the construct landfills and how to recycle the landfill fields are important for people.MSW samples taken from Beiyanqiao landfill in Wuhan were run in the conventional soil tests and Plate Loading Test. The Engineering Properties and settlement of Municipal Solid Waste are research by the numbers. Base on these, the paper establish settlement expressions considered organism Bio-decomposition. The stabilization state of landfill is evaluated. Some advice is give to accelerate the course stabilization of landfill.The variety rules of MSW components and the rules of organism decomposition are got from the generalized to the experiment result of MSW to the physics, mechanics, chemistry, biology.The Engineering Properties of MSW are research by the conventional soil tests, such as unit weight, moisture content, the specific weight, hydraulic conductivity, compressibility and shear strength.The Plate Loading Test is used to research the compressibility of MSW. Especially , the influence of fiber to the compressibility of MSW is lucubrated. The compound material model and domino offect of fiber are creationarily inducted.There is no appropriate model to analyze settlement of landfills so far, especially when Bio-decomposition is taken into consideration. The paper analyzes the settlement mechanism of MSW and completely consider the Bio-decomposition.. From these the new method to calculate settlement of landfills is gived.The measures to accelerate the course stabilization of landfill ground on the research on the stabilization state of landfill.
