The Research On The Condition And Problem Of City Sculpture In Xiangtan

The city is a giant combination of the economy, the culture, the humanities, the landscape, the custom and so on. As modernization developing leaps and bounds, it's urgent to reform the functions of city and rebuilt the image of city in particular, which cause the city landscape image design seems so vitally important. The sculpture is one of the elements in the city landscape design; it not only beautifies and decorates the environment, but also transmits the information that can not be replaced by the other form factors.Xiangtan has long history since the later Han Dynasty. Form the beginning, Xiangtan's urban construction pays much attention to build one strong humanities atmosphere. Directed by this thought, the active element of the city landscape environment-city sculpture also obtained great development, it appeared large quantities of the sculptures that reflected the Xiangtan history and culture, such as "Mao Zedong Bronze statue", "Qi Baishi Liked", "Nostalgia" and so on, which help Xiangtan to reveal the character of "great man's former dwelling, civilized Xiangtan" . But because of the urban construction complexity, the multiplicity and the other factors, it still had many problems in the Xiangtan city sculptures.The article analysed the current situation of the Xiangtan city sculpture from the social angle and the environment art angle. First, it pointed out the social factor affected the Xiangtan city sculpture is: The level of government instruction in city management and decision, the project of the planning department, the comprehensive quality of the residents and so on; Second, it studied the questions of the Xiangtan city sculptures from the environment art angle, and proposed the main problem in the Xiangtan city sculptures design at present is: it cannot design based on creating overall image, it cannot combine the sculpture with factors such as spatial environment, criterion, shape, culture background organically. In the subject choice, the spatial laying aside, the color utilization, the material selection, criterion management, idea creation many aspects, it need further enhance. Finally, it proposed the aim of the city sculpture design is to express the sculpture potential meaning from each aspect, combine the sculptures' content and form with Xiangtan's city landscape, consider the city sculpture design problem comprehensively base on the view of creating the city landscape overall image, so that the sculpture can play an active role in the Xiangtan city landscape environment.
