Composite structure of brick walls and concrete shear walls is a new kind of united anti-lateral load structure, in which some R.C shear walls are set. This kind of structure has many advantages of ordinary masonry structure, moreover, its seismic performances are improved by adding R.C shear walls.In this thesis, based on the research achievements of the former scholars, the coordinated working performances of the masonry and reinforced concrete walls composite structure is researched more systematically. The test and analysis results indicate that the composite structure has a better seismic performance and can reach the requirements of seismic fortification criterion. In seismic analysis of this kind of composite structures, it is necessary to take not only the coordinated working performances but also the shearing deformation of the reinforced concrete walls into account.The amount and arrangement of the reinforced concrete walls in composite structure of bricks walls and concrete shear walls is the two main influence factors of its seismic performance. To adjust the structural characteristic stiffness coefficient and the seismic overturning moment magnitude, the quantitative rationality of reinforced concrete walls can be ensured efficiently. The method to calculate the optimal number of shear walls is listed and some kinds of influence factors are discussed. This method is accurate and convenient enough to use in the preliminary of building structures.In this paper, a structural optimal method is set up to optimize the amount of reinforced concrete walls further. The analysis results show that the method is feasible and practical and have the theoretical value and economic effectiveness for the optimal design of the composite structures.By the analytic software of composite structures of brick walls and concrete shear walls(MRCSA1.0), the nonlinear time-history analysis and the static nonlinear pushover analysis are presented to the composite structures of different numbers of reinforced concrete walls. In addition, the effects of the amount and arrangement of reinforced concrete walls to the deformation and working performances is probed.
