With the fast pace of global economic integration, the trades of among countries and areas are increasing frequently, railway which is the main transport mode of international traffic already looks ability not equal to one's ambition, and the contradiction between ability and quantity of transport sharpens, since the railway gauge between the counties that have international traffic is different, so the goods must be exchanged loading and passengers must be transferred at the frontier port, which decreases transport efficiency and increases transport cost. The gauge-changeable bogie which is as the best of all technology projects solving the international traffic between different gauges has already been used in the world.At present, the research on that aspect is barely getting up in China, so it is urgently that gauge-changeable bogies which adapt to Chinese railway actuality are researched and developed. Therefor, the task about gauge-changeable bogies would bring new development opportunity to developing the international traffic of Chinese railway, and it is provided with economy and society benefits to improving transport efficiency of goods and carrying out straight transportation of rolling stock.In this paper, based on the technology traits of typical gauge-changeable bogies in the world, the gauge-changeable wheelsets for freight car is designed by using traditional wheelsets, and the effect about security and maneuverability of the locking mechanism to the bogie was analyzed. And combined with the actuality of Chinese railway freight car, three types of the gauge-changeable bogie projects were put forward, and compared with their structures and dynamics, the best project which used primary suspensions and "H" type of whole jointing frame was confirmed. The all parts of the bogie were designed by using software SolidWorks, and the three dimension structure scheme of the gauge-changeable bogie was protracted.According to the characteristic of the bogie, the ground gauge-changeable equipment which matched the gauge-changeable bogie was put forward.
