In this thesis, the theory of reduce seismic response and current application situation of isolated structure with laminated rubber are discussed.The design methods of base isolation system have been given in <>(GB5011-2001),but the design methods are very troublesome to be grasped. In our country some base isolation buildings are designed by research institutions. So,it is very urgent to find a simplified and reliable design method.The research of this thesis is focused on theorical research and engineering application of practical computating model. On the foundation of the achievement of the forerunners'work, in this paper 1-mass and equivalent 2-mass models are established, and compared with time history analysis results. According to the analysis, the conclusion can be drawn:the simplified computating method is reliable and effective.In this thesis, some practical problems are studied in Liyang isolated engineering, and the measures are presented. The static stability of the serial isolation system consisting of laminated rubber bearing and column are introduced.At last,the economic evaluation of isolation structure is studied.First,an economical comparison of custom building and isolation building is made,then a calculation on economy benefit and damages in eartquake is proposed toward each of them.Last,the soil savings of construction of brick-and-concrete structures are analyzed.
