Development Of The PTCR Characters Comprehensive Test System

Positive Temperature Coefficient Resistor is widely used. For producing eligible PTCR, it is necessary to test the PTCR product. Meeting with the demand of production and the practical application, combining with the development of modern microelectronics and automation technologies, and assimilating the useful experience from the existing devices, this paper develops a comprehensive characteristic testing device of PTCR with a good bargain to satisfy the PTCR manufacturer.This paper introduces the basic features, working principles and typical application of PTCR. With the general demonstration of current equipments, we design the systemic frame of the testing device of PTCR.The design and realization of circuits for the comprehensive characteristic testing device of PTCR is illustrated herein. MCU controls the channel switching and sampling of test data. Via the communication by serial interfaces and the upper computer, the computer executes functions, such as data gathering, processing, storing, displaying and printing. As well as, we investigate several potential aspects, such as signal processing circuits, protection circuit and antijamming circuit.In addition, a temperature measuring and controlling system is developed, which is involved with a circuit for temperature measuring, temperature controlling algorithm and heating circuit, etc. This system provides the essential temperature circumstance for the performance analysis of PTCR.At the last step, with this developed system, we realize the testing procedures for three major features of PTCR: resistance-temperature test, current-time test, and current shock withstanding test.
