With the development of society, power quality is paid more and more attention. Power is special product whose quality depends on power supply departments and electricity users. Power quality also influences their interests. The monitoring of power quality has become an inexorable trend. Firstly, it introduces the definition, analyzing method and metrical theory. Then offers a new type design plan of the monitoring system of power quality, combining with the increasing development and popularization of Web technology, and compared with the most softwares of power system which is designed as C/S mode. The three-tire B/S mode system is based on electric WAN, suiting to low-cost and wide-spread monitoring system. Secondly, it offers the idea and method about transformation from PQDIF data format recommended by IEEE to factory data format. Using advanced program language Delphi, it realizes the transformation between PQDIF format data and text files, accomplish parsing PQDIF files. These studies and works contribute to spread PQDIF in our country. Finally some advice of PQDIF's future study is put forward.From the above practice, the following conclusions is reached: the power quality monitoring system base on three-tire B/S mode has stronger expansibility and flexibility,providing a new application platform for large-scale information share;The perspective of PQDIF is so expansive. It shields the otherness of multi-datasources and affords a uniform data acquire mode. Especially for power quality monitoring system today, which is becoming net-based, standardization, PQDIF is more indispensable.
