With the advancement of industry and technology, increasingly high standards set by the society for the power quality, the detection and control of power quality have drawn more and more attention. This project is based on a program called "Intelligent Power Network On-Line Monitoring System", in which a company cooperates with our university. To meet their equirements of the program, a power quality monitoring system, combining energy sensor, configuration software technology and network communication technique, has been designed. This new system adopts a distributed control structure and is composed of on-the-spot monitoring system, the central management system, and remote access system. The on-the-spot monitoring system consists of the Kinco MT4404TE touch screen, energy sensors and other equipments, which are used to monitor the power quality parameters for example, the voltage, current and frequency in the monitoring stations. And the touch screen, via RS485. structures communication with energy sensors in order to achieve real-time monitoring of all the related stations. The central monitoring system exchange data through the network technology and touch screens, intending to realize centralized monitoring of all the stations. This system develops and adopts the VS2005environment, and displays the implementation methods.corresponding flowcharts, program codes and operating results of communication module, database module, and other function modules transformed by PQDIF format. This system can generate and provide reports of various data formats.Based on B/S mode, the remote access system is designed by the remote management system to achieve the remote network check and maintenance of the on-the-spot data. Finally, the system has been debugged and improved which enables the power quality monitoring system to achieve automation and networking.
