The whole closed type numerical control hydraulic system is put forward based on energy-saving problem of hydraulic system which synthesizes mechanism, electronics and hydraulic-drive technologies, and which works according to distinction work circumstance power-matching principle with a digital bidirectional variable displacement pump oil feed and a computer closed loop control.Monitoring system is an important part of the whole closed type numerical control hydraulic system which works entirely in its control. So, developing the monitoring system is significant. The paper mainly deals with four aspects:1. Dissertating the structures and the principles of energy-saving of the whole closed type numerical control hydraulic system, confirming the functions, structures and control principles of the monitoring system.2. Developing and researching on SCM monitoring system in hardware and software. In hardware, designing the main control panel of SCM, keyboard display panel, peripheral control and collection circuit, serial communication circuit etc. In software, designing the main program and subprograms by using KEIL C Uvison2 integrated developing environment.3. Upper monitoring system is developed by using Visual Basic 6.0 program language based on Windows 2000 operation system. In course of developing, analyzing tasks of control of the system, confirming general system structure and functional module structure, on the basis of it, designing friendly interface on the upper computer. In addition, RS-232 serial communication protocols and programs are described in detail in the paper, and serial communication between upper PC and slave SCM is achieved successfully by use of MSComm of ActiveX controls in Visual Basic 6.0.4. Experiment on test platform by joining monitoring system with hydraulic system, it is testified that the system can meet design's needs which settles academic foundation and technical support for the application of engineering.
