In this thesis,the study has been made on the mechanism of the screw pile which is a new pile foundation subjected to vertical loading with FEM. Compared with normal uniform diameter bored pile,screw pile has higher bearing capacity and better technical and economics effects,thus it will achieve wide application and get welcomed in practical projects.On the base of static load experiment and the finite element method, three major contents have been made. Firstly, the study of screw pile's bearing capability. Analysis and compare have been made on the distribution of deformation and stress in soil body through the vertical stress and vertical displacement contours of different pile types, gaining the load transmission mode and mechanism of screw pile with different parameters of pile.Secondly, optimizing the design parameter of screw pile, through FEM, the major factors that affect the work behavior of screw pile are studied, the factors include stress effect range of the vertical load bore by different screw threads;Lastly, obtain calculative formula of screw p0000ile's utmost bearing capacity, according to the results of numerical evaluation and curves of the bearing capacity of different pile's. Summarize the calculative formula, and comparison has been made on these computing results from practical experiments, and it's reasonable.
