In recent years, along with the social progress, educational development and campus construction, the planning and design of college sports facilities in China were faced with lots of problems, and came under observation. This thesis briefly describes the evolution and development of college sports facilities, and analyzes the present situation and disadvantage of college sports facilities in China.In this thesis the planning and design of college sports facilities is a whole and it could be discussed the new possible directions from its characters. Taking Nanjing college sports facilities as the example, this thesis made a preliminary research on college sports facilities based on analysis of questionnaire conducted on university students. It tries to put forward some feasible way of design and plan which has some practical meaning, figuring a harmony and unity space environment for campus, making the campus to blend into the urban environment, sharing the college sports facilities as a resource for the sustainable development.1st chapter: The section which brings forward the issue of the whole thesis, discusses the purpose and sense of the study from the start of analyzing questions, and then proposes the angle of view and the aim of the thesis.2nd chapter: The chapter 2 generalizes and analyses on the correlative study and constructive practice of college sports facilities all over the world. Compared the college sports facilities both here and abroad, it also points out the lacks of the design and construction on Chinese college sports facilities.3rd chapter: With the questions from the first two chapters, the chapter 3 summarizes the character and actuality of college sports facilities in china. It points out a purpose of all-in-one design on college sports facilities and wants it to accord the modern university model, reduce the constructive operating cost, expedite the management, and obligate the space for the sustainable development of campus. 4th chapter: By analyzing the examples of college sports facilities in Nanjing, the chapter 4 probes the methods of planning and design on college sports facilities in new situations.5th chapter: With the questions analyzed from the frontal chapters, The chapter 5 summarizes the trend of development on Chinese college sports facilities from several possible point of view.The whole thesis is about 70,500 words with 97 pictures and diagrams.
