The Study Of Architectural Function Evolvement Under The Influence Of The Information Technology

In this paper, it has discussed the application of IT in architecture in the point of the function, and has concluded the variation of between architecture and its function, which is influenced by IT.First it has summarized the extensive use of IT in architecture, which endow the current function of architecture some new features. That is virtual space, intelligent use, interactive surrounding and distributed layout. Then based on some Typology Architecture, as well as the derived function of architecture, it has explained the variation of function caused by IT. Regarding to the typology architecture, the corresponding variation is mentioned, by analyzing recent huge buildings, which were greatly influenced by IT. The following are the case in point: SOHO, digital library, anthropomorphized settings in hospitals, diversified office building and multifunctional buildings. As far as the derived function of architecture, the visual function, experience function and intention function are analyzed with concrete examples.
