Appropriate alignment parameters may maintain stability of driving and handiness of operation, and automatic returnability of the steering system when vehicle goes on straight; The proper steering mechanism may keep appropriate angles between inside wheel and outside wheel during the turning course. The alignment parameters of wheel and the steering mechanism are very important factors on tire wear. That about 30% of vehicle faults are caused by the alignment parameters and the steering mechanism is showed by lots of documents. So it is important to research the kinematics rule and design method of alignment parameters and the steering mechanism.Based on dynamics theory, applying ADAMS (Automatic Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical System) software, the simulation models on suspension-steering mechanism (unite steering mechanism and divided steering mechanism) are built. The characters on kinematics of alignment parameters and the steering mechanism are analyzed by modifying parameters value (alignment parameters,structure parameters,load, etc), and correlations on alignment parameters each other are researched. And performances on two kinds of models are compared. At last, iSight software is applied to finish optimum design of the alignment parameter,the steering mechanism and the place of hydraulic steering system.Rule of kinematics on alignment parameters and steering performance on the steering mechanism are gotten by simulation analysis. Main simulation research include that correlations on alignment parameters during driving condition and variation on alignment parameters when modifying structure parameters,speed and load, etc.,and the kinematics rule of alignment parameters when wheels are bumping,and the connection of alignment parameters and steering angle, etc.The value of alignment parameters are different at static state and driving state, furthermore the steering angle of inside and outside wheel, so the optimum design for alignment parameters and steering mechanism is finished based on driving condition, which is advanced and nearly reality driving condition, however the traditional design based on static state is disadvantage. Values of alignment parameters and steering angles are different at different load and speed, so the optimum design is finished based on heavy load and frequent speed. The hydraulic force output by simulation model is larger than the value gotten by data calculation, and the strength computation of parts ought to be finished based on the force output by simulation model.
