Independent suspension and steering system are important systems in the automobile, which performance effect directly the ride performance, steering stability and safety of automobile. Because independent suspension and steering system are complicated space mechanisms, so it is difficult to obtain perfect performance by using traditional design methods. Based on R-W (Roberson and Wittenburg) method of multi-body dynamics, studies on twin trapezoidal linkage suspension and steering mechanism as well as Mc Pherson strut and steering mechanism were done in the dissertation.A method for setting up the optimization model of automobile independent suspension and steering system based on R-W method of multi-body dynamics was put forward, which can improve the generalization of optimization model. Regarding the independent suspension and steering system as a integral system, the optimization method reduce the influence ofindependent suspension on steering mechanism, and obtain the best steering performance.The directed graph and reduced directed digraph of the system were set up based on R-W method, the system relationship matrix, tach matrix and body hinge vector matrix were educed, the motion equation and constraint equation were also set up by analyzing the structure of twin trapezoidal linkage suspension and steering system as well as Mc Pherson strut and steering m(?)chanism Based on the studies above,the (?)pimization model of the suspension and steering system, the optimization model of splitting point of steering trapezoidal mechanism were established.In order to obtain rational error distribution and the best optimization effect, taking into account the influence of up and down movement of wheel on steering error and the tolerance of...
