Combining with the Channel of the Yangzi River of Nanjing Project, this paper adopted the methods such as optimized the GPS control network, set up the compulsive observe frustra, used double frequency receiver in second order GPS network and fourth order lead observation, took the measure of control point matching check to achieve the precision of 1/90000 of second order GPS network, 1/35000 of fourth order lead and limit the mid-error of the weakest nearby point under ± 10mm. The project so important as the Channel of the Yangzi River of Nanjing Project require the consistent level of both sides of river and Jiangxinzhou, and the precision of second order leveling survey meet the requirement of "Specification for the first and second order leveling" . In the design of the second order leveling, firstly set up two basic rock points on the south side of river, secondly take the method of first order leveling survey the basic rock , thirdly set up the closed second order leveling route. On those points of fourth order lead which can not receiver the GPS signal, Leica TC1800 was used and achieved precision requirement. This paper do some research in the fields of GPS control survey, leveling control survey, river-crossing leveling, underground tunnel breakthrough survey. The primary contents are as follows:(1) Through the control point matching check in the optimization of the GPS control network, meet the requirement of designation.(2) Integrated the leveling standard of two sides of Yangzi River and Jiangixnzhou in the Channel of the Yangzi River of Nanjing Project.Introduced the design and construction of the deep rock base points in details, all the conclusions are contributed to the precise engineering surveying in grand scale settlement field.(3)Discussed the theory and practicable usage of optics micrometer method and range trigonometric leveling method in first and second order river-crossing survey, regulate the operation process, integrate the understanding oft he specification, contribute to the design and construction of the large-scale brige.(4) Design and analysis of the survey methods in the construction period of Yangzi River channel of Nanjing.
