With the increase of the aging population, more and more older people are facing with the serious street-crossing risk. Some street-crossing facilities such as footbridge can provide a high safety level for older people to cross streets, so attracting older people to use these facilities can reduce the street-crossing risk. For evaluating the older people’s usage rate of these facilities quantitatively, it is necessary to explore older people’s choice behavior for street-crossing facilities from the perspective of choice behavior mechanism, and deeply analyze the influence of the attributes of street-crossing facilities and the personal attributes of older people on choice behavior. This study takes people aged60or over as the research object, and takes the safety and the convenience of street-crossing facilities as the research emphasis. We consider footbridge has three types with different level of convenience and consider that the safety of crosswalk is highly related to the remained time of pedestrian green light. We design an adaptive SP survey to collect choice data, and adopt the computer3d visualization technology to build the imaginary street-crossing scenes, and we display these3d images and videos to describe the street-crossing scenes of survey questions. This study employs a multilevel Logistic model to analyze the behavior data. For ensuring the model can interpret older people’s choice behavior effectively, we take a validity analysis on the adaptive SP survey data. The analysis result suggested that the non-trading data have an adverse effect on description ability of the model. For eliminating the adverse effect furthest, we adopt a specific survey method and a suitable survey implementation plan to reduce non-trading behaviors happen, and delete the non-trading data during the data processing stage. We employ a Bayesian method to estimate the parameters of the model, and take a significance test for the result of parameters estimation, by executing the circulation of modeling-test-modeling to ensure the rationality of the final model. The analysis result of the final model suggested that age of older people, convenience and safety of the street-crossing facilities have significant effect on the facility choice behavior. On the other hand, we compare the model parameters of convenience and safety to offer a further discuss on how that older people to trade-off between convenience and safety through the estimated result of the multilevel Logistic model.
