Small Water-plane Area Twin Hull (SWATH) ships typically have two submarine-like lower hulls completely submerged below the water surface. Above water, a SWATH resembles a catamaran. Its haunch areas are connected to each submerged hull by one or two relatively thin vertical members, or struts. The SWATH ship is a new type ship, which has the excellent combination property,such as low wave making resistance, outstanding sea keeping capacity, ample deck area, etc.The development and application of CFD has provided a reliable and effective way for the research of the resistance of SWATH. The business software SHIPFLOW is a ship CFD professional program, where the flow is divided into three zones, thus enabling a high resolution.Based on the resistance performance and theoretical calculation of SWATH, we apply the SHIPFLOW software to carry out the numerical calculation and the research on the optimization of ship form.The calculated model is built upon one designed ship. This paper has chosen some parameters of ship form for the numerical calculation. These parameters are the draft (T), ratio of the length and diameter of the submerged body (LB/D), stern form, distance of two hull (2b), length and longitudinal position of struts (LS,X0), and angle of canted struts (θ).
