In modern elevator system, buffer, the last safety protection equipment, is an essential part of the elevator. Along with the continuously appearance of the key figure building, high-speed elevator are becoming more and more extensive. As for the high speed/ extremely high elevator, it is very important to have an urgent equipment that prevents accident when to be lifted to a hundreds meters' height in a short time. When the elevator happens to reach top or the bottom of the pit, a buffer must absorb or consume the motion energy of the car in a very short time, thus avoiding accidents. With the car speed's acceleration, the total height of buffer will enlarge, which makes the elevator bottom pit that used to put the buffer in deepens sharply. This is a large waste of the building space. It becomes an issue in practical projects to study how to reduce the size of buffer and the impact, while development of the elevator technology to high-speed, small-size, low-pit technology has been become a trend.Firstly, this paper analyses the compressing and restoring function of buffer, takes into account the design outlines: high speed buffering...
