The scene analysis and reconstructing of traffic accident is one important aspect of vehicle traffic safety research. On the basis of domestic and overseas research status on road traffic accident, combining with the condition and the need of traffic accident management, a 3D simulation system of road traffic accident is developmented, which can help dealing personnel reconstruct the whole process of road traffic accident.Firstly, according to one-dimension collision and two-dimension collision in road traffic accident, collosion models are established, which improves limitation of original model, enhances the precision of road traffic accident reconstruction and enlarges its cope. Besides that, the effect of elastic restitution coefficientk and tangential friction coefficientμon vechicles'speed are also analyzed deeply.In addition, a 3D simulate procedure of road traffic accident is established with VC++, OpenGL, 3DSMAX and MATLAB softwares. In the virtual system, the real scene with changed parameters can be obtanined. For example, scene element, angle of view and so on. the simulation software's correctness and veracity are validated using real vechicle collide tests. Finally, an actual case of road traffic accident is reconstructed and simulated.
