In recent years, as global demand for petroleum energy and exploiting amount are increasing constantly, there are fewer and fewer large-scale oil gas fields suitable for exploiting, FPSO is exactly applied new developing technology of a ocean engineering to exploiting the oil gas field to the deep sea and the marginal oil gas field with this kind of trend. It is paid more and more attention by the petroleum circle and shipbuilding field because of its remarkable behavior in economiy and technology, and now it is already used in all main offshore oilfield extensively in the world. As the combination result of marine petroleum circle and the shipbuilding circle, it cann't evade storms like it seemingly though FPSO's structure seems like boat, therefore it need higher demand in structure strength and fatigue. And it is particularly important to carry on the finite element analysis to the whole hull structure . For its structure is complicated and bulky, the analysis needs not only much more time but also better harawares. So how to conveniently and swiftly calculate the super large-scale problem like this on the basis of limited computer equipment becomes the problem must be solvedBecause of this problem, based on the structure characteristic of FPSO, this text advances adopting the finite element software ANSYS to carry on the structure finite element analysis for the whole hull. Taking a FPSO as an example, the three-dimensional finite element model of the whole hull is set up,then linear static analysis is carried on with two kinds of operating modes of unloaded and fully loaded.Result of the analysis indicates it's feasible, reliable and high-efficient using ANSYS software to carry on FPSO whole ship structure analysis. So, this paper has remarkable theoretical significance and applied value for dealing with the finite element analysis to the whole hull structure.
