Recently, with the constructions of the large-span space structures swift increasing, not only a lot of problems need to be solving in design, but also more and more technical challenges are appearing in construction process. To biuld moden large-span space structures, the rational construction technology and erection program is most important, which also influence the structural stress after construction finishing directly. In this paper, based on the construction of the steel roof project of Tianjin Olympic centre stadium, simulation calculation and monitoring practice in construction process of long-span space structure are analyzed and researched in-depth.(1) In this paper, the all-purposes finite element analysis software ANSYS is utilized. To consider the interaction, the falsework system and major structure of the steel roof of Tianjin Olympic centre stadium are setup in one model. So the force and deformation of the falsework system could be calculated in different load cases. (2) The load on falseworks should be relieved, when construction is finished. The stress state of the major structure transforms from construction state with falseworks to design state. From test-calculating and comparing repeatly, considering the interaction of the falsework system and major structure, the final load-reliving scheme is determined, whose security is demonstrated. (3) Tracing the different phrase of the construction of the steel roof of Tianjin Olympic centre stadium, the stress of the key member bar of three primary trusses is monitored, the corresponding data of each construction phase gathered in construction building site and structural temperature stess are analyzed and compared. (4) At last, based on the monitoring practice of the steel roof project of Tianjin Olympic centre stadium and non-linear finite element method theory, using the calculational software ANSYS, to simulate and analysis the construction state of the steel roof project.
