| As the main carrier in ocean transportation, vessels need to reach stipulated requirements on navigation performance and safety performance. Vessels have and shall maintain good buoyancy and certain stability, which is the prerequisite for ensuring vessels' safe operation and guaranteeing transportation of personnel and cargoes in time and space. Therefore, the study on vessels' buoyancy and stability has been attracting more and more attention in navigation field. In actual operations, traditional calculation methods of vessels' buoyancy and stability are far away from satisfying production demands. With the development of scientific technologies, computer techniques have been widely used in navigation field. Using computer techniques to calculate vessels' buoyancy and stability has been adopted by more and more vessels and shipping companies. However, with a big leaning angle, calculation methods of vessels' buoyancy and stability, which is based on fixed vessels' floating center, usually result in much deviations. On the basis of the study on digital vessel design and construction, the thesis works out a new method for calculating vessels' buoyancy and stability that is based on digital table of offsets. With assistance of data in table of offsets and weight distribution rules for bare boat, it establishes a new digital model and adjusts the buoyancy by using iterative methods, which greatly solves the calculation problems of vessels' buoyancy and stability with rather big leaning angle and increase the calculation accuracy. The thesis studies the calculation of vessels' buoyancy and stability, on the basis of which it designs and develops a set of software for calculating vessels' buoyancy and stability with the help of VC++6.0 and Microsoft Access. The main contents are as follows: discussing calculation and checking methods of vessels' buoyancy and stability based on digital table of offsets; analyzing the methods of working out vessel's stability data by employing static stability curve; designing a software system for calculating... |
