This thesis is concerned about the development and research of digital relay protection platform based on DSP and communication technology of network. The work includes design and manufacture of the hardware system, development and realization of the software system. It also deals with the research of correlative algorithm.The thesis deals with the actuality of digital relay protection and its intending development. The function of digital relay protection is developing in the direction of computerization, network, integration, unionization and intelligence. At the sametime, its structure is developing with the direction of miniaturization, combination, modularization, platform and standardization. The protection device discussed in the paper embodies the designing ideas of network and platform.Firstly, the designing scheme of uniform hardware platform is proposed in the paper, which is based on the requests of digital relay protection. Its outstanding technological characteristic is that of application of DSP and data interchange based on Ethernet and CAN bus. In accord with the scheme, the modular and uniform hardware system is formed, including AC transform module, data sampling & calculating module, logic & communication module, IO module, Ethernet Hub module, power module, and MMI unit.Secondly, the hardware design and manufacture of AC transform module and data sampling & calculating module that are representatives of the platform are thoroughly discussed in the paper. Particularly, parameters of AC conversion's forward channel is calculated and optimized carefully. The technological characteristic of DSP chip-TMSVC5410A and realization of real time clock system which is corrected by GPS are also discussed thoroughly.Thirdly, the data interchange technology between modules, which include technological characteristic of Ethernet & CAN bus, their realization methods and character of dataflow, is explained carefully.The research work of related algorithm of digital relay protection is performed in the paper. A new algorithm is presented for filtering decaying DC component accurately. It is deduced exactly and its result is simple. The novel algorithm has higher computation precision and faster calculation speed when it is performed in the platform. In the paper, measuring method of frequency based on software is also proposed.The thesis discusses the software design of the platform, which mainly includes the flowchart of main circulation and interrupt besides realization of user program's parallel boot.In the end, the main work of the paper is summarized, and the intending research work is also prospected.
