Air and Pulverized Coal Real-time Monitoring System (APCRTMS) is designed to monitor such basic parameters about coal-fired boiler in power plant as air speed and concentration of pulverized coal. It provides reliable data for the combustion optimization and fault detection of the boiler in power plant in order to improves its safety, stability and efficiency. From the practical point of view, this paper focuses on the utilization of APCRTMS and the design of web-based Monitoring System, which is developed on network and database technology.In more details:This paper introduces in great details the software/hardware infrastructure and signal measuring theory of APCRTMS and analyzes its functionality and error possibility. Based on that, it further explains all kinds of fault sign so that skilled worker can properly and timely react against abnormal situations and take correct steps to guarantee the safety of power unit.1. On purpose, this paper introduces a special mathematic model for the relatively complicated pulverized coal blocking. The result of the computer simulation in MATLAB gives the parameter tendency under condition of pulverized coal blocking and provides theoretical groundwork for practical utilization of APCRTMS.2. Based on different integration between APCRTMS and DCS, this paper encapsulates all of the variables and formulas in a DLL and then embeds it into DCS platform, which fully utilizes the efficiency and extendibility of DLL. It provides a conveniently practical method to integrate APCRTMS into DCS.3. Based on the technical characters of SIS system integrating function modules, this paper designs and develops an ActiveX component compliant with OPC protocol. It also gives solution of key problems in component development. This component encapsulates OPC protocol and calculation formulas used in APCRTMS. This method combines the uniformity of OPC and the"Plug and Play"advantage of ActiveX component so that SIS system could easily add the function of Monitoring parameters about air and pulverized Coal in the future.4. Based on the original APCRTMS, this paper designs and develops a web-based APCRTMS, which has many new features such as providing real-time/historic data graphs, sending and receiving error alerts, and generating and printing data reports. Also, in order to improve the safety of the whole network system, this paper optimized the web sever, database server and application program.
