The thesis is going to research into the interactive relationship between the public space and the public sphere of modern times. The range of the research is controlled in the public space of habitation community. The background of the thesis is basing on the public sphere theories and communion behavior theories where came from the sociologist Habermas. In this article, the author had decided to connect the public space with the public space. The research of this connection will be sum up by the expatiation on the publicity of space. The aim is not to the research of the design method or the space quantity, but make an evaluation standard to the social value of the public space of community. The thesis had make two clues to explain this kind of interactive relationship.First clue, the influence of public mechanism upon to the public space, mainly is study to the public sphere how to have a function to public space of living environment with public mechanism, and the representation of this function is concentrate on the different request to the publicity of space.A method that is like the historic research, the talking point is according to the variety within the living space what is controlled by different public sphere. In this way, we not only can realize the modern public request of the social public space, but also bring out the way of the construction of the publicity in the space of community. The way is energizing communication activities in the living community for the sake of setting up the comprehend mechanism.Second clue, the publicity construction of the public space of community, the goal of this chapter is going to make the public space meet the needs of the public sphere, by the means of publicity construction of the public space in the modern living community. In the text, the author had put forward the public space of community must encourage communication activities. Three expressions of" culture- norm- personal" can acquire this kind of public association possibility. The expressions respond to the process of space design will carry out three aspects as the following:1. The set up of community culture or the sign backgrounds2. Regulation of public behavior in the design of community's Public space3. Public space of public participateBy this way, the author completes the discussion from the concept of " public" to the publicity construction.
